Most of us have experienced some negative event in our lives. Often these events can have a lingering impact. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger after such events. Sometimes this may include feeling defeated and less optimistic or experiencing mood swings going from irritable to sad or feeling on edge. There might be changes in behavior, like wanting to avoid others, indulge in alcohol or drug use or even stopping to care for personal hygiene. Sometimes this impact may involve avoiding people and places that have bad memories, difficulty sleeping or concentrating, feeling like bad things are happening, and even feeling guilty, shameful, negative, angry or just down. You do not have to feel this way, we can help you learn techniques to help overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of healing.
The symptoms of Depression and Anxiety can often look the same. Often that overlap comes in the form of restlessness, excessive worrying, agitation, difficulty thinking, concentrating or making decisions or physical concerns like headache or stomachache. Depression often involves feelings of frustration, sadness, irritability, worthlessness, loss of interest in normal activities, tiredness, thoughts of suicide or death, and disturbance in sleep and appetite. Anxiety often includes feeling nervous or powerful, increased breathing or heart rate, trembling, sweating and having a sense of panic or impending danger.
Depression and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and even some joy.
Addictions can come in many forms. Substance abuse, gambling, sex, food and internet are common addictions impacting individuals in our society today. We can work with you to address your addictions. This may involve looking at underlying causes, safety planning, future goals and change planning. We encourage participation in groups to gain the support of others with similar experiences but do work with individuals, couples and families. Regardless of where you are at in your journey we are here to help.
Counseling can be beneficial to anyone who needs it, but it may not be an option to come into a physical office space. Currently we are addressing these needs by offering services remotely thru a secure telehealth platform that you can access on your computer or smart phone. For this you will need a quite space where you can talk openly and a reliable internet connection. We are currently offering this service for clients residing in the state of California.
We offer a sliding scale that is determined by the licensure and experience of the available provider, and type of services provided.

For those with a PPO insurance plan, you may be able to seek reimbursement for care received with K-Psych through the out-of-network provider benefit on your plan. Many PPO plans reimburse a portion of the expense associated with seeing an out-of-network provider. If you would like to seek reimbursement from your PPO, it is recommended that you contact your insurance in advance to determine whether reimbursement is in fact possible should you be seen at K-Psych. Useful information to obtain prior to your first appointment is the amount of your deductible and what percentage of session fees you can expect to have reimbursed. K-Psych can support your efforts by providing a superbill upon request. Please be aware that there is no guarantee that you will be reimbursed, and payment is expected at the start of each session.
